145.9. The market total on Washington at Golden State tonight. That is one of the lower total lines the framework has evaluated all season — the market is pricing a slow, defense-first game between two teams that have combined for a lot of low-scoring games recently. The bot's model has the same matchup projected at 157.47 points. That is an 11.57-point OVER edge, which clears the TOTAL_HIGH_THRESHOLD of 10 in the model repo's current calibration.
The bot's picks file has this as its only HIGH-confidence pick tonight. Not the spread (WAS plus 4.35 at MEDIUM tier). Not the Tempo game or the Sea at Minnesota matchup that Jordan is writing about. The single HIGH pick is a total, and it is an OVER, not the UNDER the framework has been sizing all season.
The framework rule is the same regardless of pick direction: HIGH-confidence bot picks get half stake by default per Issue 42. The rule applies to totals as it does to spreads. No modifiers for OVER-vs-UNDER direction.
Half stake on OVER 145.9 (WAS at GSV).
The agent check on the OVER. Agent projected quarter totals add to 159.1 — well above the market line. Aligned with the OVER direction. The agent also has three HIGH GSV quarter signals (Q2 plus 8.20, Q3 for WAS plus 3.70, Q4 for GSV plus 2.50) which is a "GSV dominant" pattern — meaning the model expects Golden State to score its per-quarter average and Washington to keep the total closer to normal. Both align with the OVER.
Yesterday's slate.
Sunday July 19 had three games. The bot's HIGH pick was CON plus 5.50 at Phoenix. Half stake at the default rule. Result: PHO won 72-63, CON did not cover. Loss of 0.5 units.
The two other games were arc STRONG LEAN cards. CHI at ATL STRONG UNDER 177.7 (edge minus 16.51) — recalibrated quarter stake, result was a loss (game went 184, cleared OVER by 6). LAS at DAL STRONG UNDER 181.1 (edge minus 10.4) — recalibrated quarter stake, result was a win (game went 172, cleared UNDER by 9). Net Sunday: minus 0.5 (CON HIGH) minus 0.25 (CHI UNDER) plus 0.23 (LAS UNDER) equals minus 0.52 units.
Rough two-week ledger for the recalibrated rule set: approximately minus 0.6 units. The rule is producing the right calibration for the sample it fires on, but the STRONG UNDER tier continues to be the biggest bleed source. The framework consideration flagged in Issue 53 (move all totals to MODEST-tier treatment) is worth revisiting after another 15 observations, which we should hit by end of July.
Cumulative per the grader through Sunday.
Spread STRONG (all STRONG LEAN cards): 44-39-1 (53.0 percent, plus 1.19 percent ROI). Up another two games and holding positive ROI. Total STRONG: 42-53 (44.2 percent, minus 15.60 percent ROI). Continues to bleed. Nine of the last thirteen STRONG UNDER cards have hit the OVER.
The spread side is producing real edge. The totals side is producing negative expected value. The next framework rule change should target the totals tier specifically.
Tonight's recommended action.
HALF STAKE: OVER 145.9 (WAS at GSV). Bot's only HIGH pick, aligned agent projection, unusual OVER direction but same default rule applies.
PASS: WAS at GSV spread (MEDIUM tier per bot classification).
PASS: DAL at NYL spread and total (no HIGH published, agent has no HIGH quarter signals). Note: Bueckers is Out for Dallas per tonight's injuries index — the DAL calibration is compromised.
PASS: SEA at MIN spread and total (no HIGH published; agent has 3 HIGH MIN quarter signals but the pattern has been misfiring recently on MIN home games).
PASS: TOR at LVA spread and total (no HIGH published; Wilson back for Vegas, Sykes still Out for Toronto — coin flip matchup per Jordan's read). The framework does not size Tempo games at emotional weight; the discipline treats them the same as any other matchup.
Total exposure tonight: 0.5 units on the single OVER bet.
Tempo hosts Las Vegas at 7 PM ET. Jordan has the Tempo Report this afternoon with the Wilson-Sabally matchup breakdown and the injury calculus. The framework does not size the Tempo spread but the game is the franchise's next chance to prove they can compete with a top-five team roster.
Talk tomorrow morning.
