0.02. The unit damage from the first two live applications of the Issue 49 quarter-stake recalibration rule. Monday July 14 produced one loss and one win. POR plus 1.5 at Connecticut (line moved from plus 1.4 at card generation) lost by 3.5 — CON won 90-87. Quarter stake down 0.25. The UNDER 172.5 on Washington at Toronto cleared under by 31 points — game went 141 (TOR won 79-62). Quarter stake up 0.23. Net minus 0.02.
The TOR home game was worth writing about beyond the total edge. Tempo won by 17 shorthanded against a Washington team playing loose. The offensive number — 79 points — is below the season average. The Tempo were efficient with what they had. Mabrey carried, Allemand ran the offense, Sabally held the interior, Conde stretched. The bench played tighter minutes than usual. Jordan's Tempo Report Monday morning had the right read on the matchup shape.
Tuesday July 15 was the first day I did not cover in editorial and the recalibrated rule would have fired on two games. STRONG LEAN LAS plus 12.5 at Minnesota — bot did not publish HIGH, arc card showed 11.18 edge, agent had aligned quarter signals. Result: LAS covered plus 12.5 by 3.5 (MIN won 96-87). At quarter stake this would have been plus 0.23 units. STRONG UNDER 168.3 GSV at IND — game went 163, cleared under by 5.3. Quarter stake plus 0.23 units. Together the missed profit from Tuesday's non-coverage: approximately plus 0.45 units.
Two consecutive slates with the recalibrated rule firing produced a net that would have been approximately plus 0.43 units if we had covered both. The rule is producing exactly the small positive edge the framework predicted. Two-observation sample is not conclusive but the direction is aligned.
Cumulative per the grader through Wednesday.
Spread STRONG (all STRONG LEAN cards): 41-38 (51.9 percent, minus 0.91 percent ROI). Up one from Monday after the LAS Tuesday cover. Total STRONG: 40-48 (45.5 percent, minus 13.22 percent ROI). Down another game after Tuesday's SEA at CHI UNDER loss. The tier continues to bleed.
The tier discipline continues to hold on totals despite the negative ROI. The STRONG UNDERS that miss have missed by significant margins (Tuesday's SEA at CHI cleared OVER by ~15). The MODEST UNDER tier (52 observations, 26-26, 50 percent) is a cleaner signal at this point than the STRONG UNDER tier is. Worth considering whether the loosened rule from June 9 should be re-tightened — the framework analysis for that decision needs another two weeks of observations.
Tonight is two games. Zero HIGH-confidence picks published (n_picks equals 0). No arc cards generated as of this morning.
Dallas at New York. Agent has no HIGH quarter signals. Two MEDIUM signals (DAL Q4 plus 2.10, NYL Q1 plus 1.50), split across the two teams. Projected total 176.1. Neutral read.
Washington at Portland. Agent has WAS Q3 plus 2.60 HIGH — one aligned signal for WAS. Projected total 161.8. SGP correlation reads "Close game, POR closes" which is contradictory to the WAS Q3 signal.
Without arc cards, the quarter-stake recalibration rule cannot fire. Without HIGH picks published, the default half-stake rule cannot fire. Framework fallback: PASS.
Tonight's recommended action.
PASS: All two games. Zero exposure.
The framework will pick up quarter-stake exposure whenever the arc cards land — the recalibration rule is designed to fire on card labels, not on the picks file alone. When the bot's card generation catches up on tonight's games (typically by afternoon in EDT), if either card shows STRONG LEAN with 5-plus point spread edge or STRONG UNDER with 8-plus point total edge, the quarter stake fires per Issue 49.
The Tempo injury note.
TOR's injury index tonight shows only Brittney Sykes on the Out list. Kiki Rice appears to be back (she was Out on Monday's card, absent from tonight's index). Temi Fagbenle also appears to be back. That is a meaningful rotation-depth restoration from Monday's shorthanded lineup.
The team's next arc card has not been generated yet based on the schedule data I have access to. The Tempo Report will fire when the next card lands. Team is 13-9 per my count after Monday's win.
Talk tomorrow morning.
